Addressing the nation on the eve of the 77th Republic Day, President Droupadi Murmu said that India’s journey since Independence has been shaped by the strength of the freedom struggle and the collective will of its people.
She noted that after 15 August 1947, the condition of the country transformed as India became independent and Indians emerged as the architects of their own national destiny.
The President highlighted that 26 January 1950 marked a historic milestone when India adopted and fully implemented its Constitution, committing the Republic to constitutional ideals and democratic values.
Emphasising economic progress, President Murmu said that India’s energetic entrepreneurs are playing a crucial role in building a developed and self-reliant nation. She described the Constitution as the foundational document of the largest republic in world history.
She also reminded citizens that January 25 is observed as National Voters’ Day, underlining the importance of democratic participation.
Concluding her address, the President expressed confidence that the lives of citizens would be filled with happiness, peace, security and harmony, extending her message to Indians at home and across the world.
