Woos Global Life Sciences Firms; Proposes Dedicated GCC Zone in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Telangana is intensifying its push to become a global life sciences hub, with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy holding high-level meetings with international companies to attract fresh investments into the sector.
The Chief Minister, along with Industries and IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) Chairman Nirmala Jagga Reddy, and Special Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar, met representatives and executives from leading global life sciences companies.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister reaffirmed that the Telangana government is fully committed to extending all necessary support to global investors planning to invest in life sciences and healthcare sectors in Hyderabad. He highlighted that several multinational life sciences firms have already established their Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in the city.
To further strengthen the ecosystem, the Chief Minister proposed the creation of a dedicated special zone for GCCs in the upcoming Future City project. He also emphasized the need to facilitate innovation centres that would enable deeper research, collaboration, and advanced development in life sciences.
Key Investment Announcements
Opella Healthcare Expansion
Opella Healthcare, a global consumer healthcare company demerged from Sanofi, is expanding its GCC operations in Hyderabad with a new 42,000-square-foot facility. The expansion is expected to generate around 500 jobs within the next year.
Vaccindo Animal Health Manufacturing Plant
Vaccindo Animal Health Pvt Ltd, a division of Indonesia-based GAPFA, is establishing a state-of-the-art BSL-3 vaccine manufacturing plant at Genome Valley. The facility will focus on producing vaccines for poultry, cattle, swine, and aquaculture, strengthening India’s veterinary vaccine production capacity.
Trends Inc Launches AI Healthcare Centre
Trends Inc, an AI and data science company specializing in healthcare and life sciences, has announced its launch in Hyderabad. The company is setting up an 18,000-square-foot centre that will drive AI-based healthcare innovations and digital transformation in the sector.
RX Propellant Life Sciences Campus
RX Propellant is developing a large-format life sciences campus in Genome Valley. The project includes a one million-square-foot advanced laboratory and infrastructure facility spread across nearly 12 acres. The development is planned to be executed over the next six years and is expected to significantly enhance Hyderabad’s life sciences infrastructure.
With these strategic investments and policy commitments, Hyderabad is poised to further consolidate its position as a leading global destination for life sciences, biotech innovation, and healthcare technology.
