Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, conducted a surprise inspection of the newly implemented one-way traffic system around KBR Park by personally riding a motorcycle in civilian clothes, posing as a common citizen, to assess the traffic situation at the ground level.
On Thursday morning, the Commissioner himself rode a bike through several important stretches to directly observe how the newly introduced traffic arrangements were functioning. Beginning from Road No. 45, he travelled towards Jubilee Checkpost, Venkatagiri, KBR Park Main Gate, Mugdha Junction, Basavatarakam, Agrasen Crossroads, Film Nagar Junction, and returned towards Road No. 45.
The surprise inspection enabled the Commissioner to experience the traffic movement first-hand and assess whether motorists were following the newly implemented one-way arrangements. The move also allowed him to identify traffic bottlenecks and other issues that may not be immediately apparent during routine official inspections.
Later in the afternoon, Commissioner Sajjanar once again monitored the traffic pattern in the KBR Park area. He interacted with police personnel deployed at various important junctions, including Agrasen Crossroads, Film Nagar, Journalist Colony, Jubilee Checkpost and KBR Park Main Gate, and enquired about the traffic situation and challenges being faced by the personnel on duty.
The Commissioner’s field-level inspection comes as part of efforts by Hyderabad Traffic Police to ensure the smooth implementation of the new one-way traffic system and minimise congestion around the busy KBR Park corridor.
By travelling through the routes himself in civilian clothes, the Commissioner was able to observe the traffic arrangements from a commuter’s perspective and obtain a direct assessment of the situation on the ground.
Traffic officials have been instructed to closely monitor the movement of vehicles at major junctions and take necessary measures to ensure smooth traffic flow, particularly during peak hours.
The surprise inspection by the Hyderabad Police Commissioner highlights the department’s focus on ground-level monitoring, effective traffic management and providing smoother movement for commuters in the city.
