Mahabubnagar:
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, Shri A. Revanth Reddy, on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) at Chittaboyinapalli village in Jadcherla Mandal, marking a major boost to higher education in the region. The prestigious institute is being developed with an investment of ₹200 crore.
The programme was attended by Ministers Shri Cilarapu Damodar Rajanarsimha, Shri Jupally Krishna Rao and Shri Vakiti Srihari; Members of Parliament Dr Mallu Ravi and Smt. Aruna; MLAs from the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district; and senior government officials.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the Telangana government has accorded top priority to education and irrigation, describing them as key drivers of social and economic transformation. He said the government is strengthening educational infrastructure while fast-tracking irrigation projects across the district.
Interacting with students, Shri Revanth Reddy stressed the importance of strong language skills to succeed in a competitive global environment. He underlined that perseverance, hard work and determination are essential for success, reiterating that education provides solutions to all challenges in life.
Recalling Mahabubnagar’s political history, the Chief Minister noted that after Burgula Ramakrishna Rao, it took 75 years for the district to produce a Chief Minister. He shared his own journey from a remote village in the Achampet constituency to the office of the Chief Minister within 17 years, expressing gratitude to the people for their support despite his not having served as a minister earlier.
Highlighting key initiatives, Shri Revanth Reddy said Young India Integrated Residential Schools are being constructed at a cost of ₹200 crore and that all categories of educational institutions are being sanctioned for Mahabubnagar district. He also said the government is extending financial assistance to aspirants preparing for the Civil Services examinations.
The Chief Minister announced that the IIIT building would be completed within a year. Emphasising that education is the only sustainable path to social change, he noted that with limited availability of land for distribution—even for housing plots—education has become the most powerful tool for empowerment.
Stating that his government is committed to inclusive development, Shri Revanth Reddy appealed to students to respect their parents and remain dedicated to their studies, adding that education without commitment has no real value.
