Hyderabad:

In a significant push to improve urban mobility and decongest key corridors, the Telangana Government has accorded administrative sanctions to a series of major infrastructure projects through the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL).

The sanctioned projects aim to strengthen road connectivity, ensure signal-free movement, and support the city’s rapidly expanding residential and IT hubs.

Key Projects Approved:

World-Class Trumpet Interchange at Budvel

At an estimated cost of ₹488 crore, a landmark trumpet interchange will be developed at Budvel, connecting Radial Road–2, the Outer Ring Road (ORR), Budvel Layout, and the upcoming Musi Riverfront project. The interchange is expected to serve as a new gateway to Hyderabad, enabling seamless regional connectivity.

Elevated Corridor–III: ICCC to Shilpa Layout

With an investment of ₹1,656 crore, this signal-free elevated corridor will enhance connectivity between Banjara Hills, Film Nagar, HITEC City, and the ORR–Gachibowli stretch. The project is expected to significantly reduce congestion in the busy IT corridor.

Pipeline Road Development: MGIT to Manikonda

Costing ₹110 crore, this six-lane road project includes junction improvements aimed at easing traffic congestion in Kokapet, Manikonda, Gandipet, Narsingi, and surrounding areas.

ORR Widening: Nanakramguda to Gachibowli

A ₹26.5 crore project has been approved to widen the ORR main carriageway between Nanakramguda and Gachibowli to eliminate bottlenecks near existing flyovers.

According to officials, all these projects will be financed through HMDA Infrastructure Bonds, underscoring the government’s focus on sustainable financing and long-term urban development.

Once completed, the projects are expected to play a crucial role in building a faster, safer, and future-ready Hyderabad, while supporting the city’s growing population and economic expansion.
