Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the Grand International Exposition of Sacred Piprahwa Relics, titled “The Light & the Lotus: Relics of the Awakened One,” at the Rai Pithora Cultural Complex, New Delhi.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said the exposition reaffirms India’s timeless role as the birthplace of Buddha Dhamma and highlights the country’s position as a global spiritual and cultural leader. He noted that the teachings of Bhagwan Buddha—peace, compassion, and wisdom—continue to guide humanity in today’s challenging times.

PM Modi emphasized that the sacred relics are not merely archaeological treasures but living symbols of faith, harmony, and India’s civilisational heritage. He underlined that India remains committed to preserving and sharing Buddhist heritage with the world.
